weekend of 9-26-08

today in class we went over taylors and Andrews papers. they were all very good! im very frustrated with this up coming weekend. its homecoming and i have to work the football game. i wanted to watch it with my friends and have fun. but instead i get paid for being there. i think its kinda awesome in some ways. i needed the hours and i get to watch the football game and still get money doing it. but it seems like ill be there forever. 9 to 3:30. thats a long time. oh well, at least i dont have to work at the gym that night. i took the rest of the day off. that makes me happy.

This i believe....

Today we went over our "this i believe..." papers as a group. i have anthony, aaron, and andrew in my group. i love my group. we have alot of fun and we still do our work and help each other out. they helped me out on how to edit my paper.

Log #4

Monday 9-15-08

We started off with Dimond's log. She did a very good job. Then we listened to Jake's log. He also did a great job. We started talking about the "This I Believe" essays in the syllabus. We then went on blackboard and went through tips and examples of "This I Believe" essays that other people had written. We also went over the in-class essays for Wed. It is open book. We went over the reading in the Field Guide book pages 82-106. It was about arguing. Then we went on youtube and watched Monty Python - Argument Clinic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teMlv3ripSM

Wednesday 9-17-08

We had our first in-class essay. It was about aguments. We printed it out and turned it in at the end of the class.

Friday 9-19-08

"This I Believe" essays are due at Midnight tonight. We went over some more examples of "This I Believe" essays on Blackboard. We had to draw a heart on a piece of paper and put in the heart everything that you love and that is important to you. We went around in a circle and some people read what was in their heart. I really liked it. I thought it was fun.

Today

Today we went over examples of "this i believe." some of them were funny and good and some of them i really didnt like. but its whatever. I really liked that we had that excercise about making a heart and filling it in with everything that you love. It made me think of everything that i dont ever want to live without. I hope we keep going with exercises like those all the time.

Sept. 15

today we were told that we have a inclass essay that we will be doing on wed. this doesnt make me very excited. but i have no choice. it will be about arguing which i believe that i am quit good at. i hope when wed. comes i will have a great idea of what i will be arguing about.

in class

friday 9-12, today we went over aarons significant object paper. it was good. dimond wasnt in class otherwise we would have went over hers too. i love today because we actually took the time away from school work and went on youtube and watch videos. i had fun today.

First Rough Draft

monday sept 8, our rough drafts were due on the friday sept 5th but monday we had to have the peer responses filled out and brought to class. My group which has Anthony, Andrew, and Aaron (the all A's except me group :p ) did everything that we were supposed to do. everyone gave me their reaction to my essay and every single one of them told me that it needs less repeating. its hard to fill up a paper to 4 pages when you pretty much said everything in 2. but they all gave me good ideas and i will def. make my essay alot better.

Brainstorming on significant object....

thru 9-4 brainstorming: my cell phone is my significant object. without a phone period i think that i would freak out. i am on the phone like almost every hour of the day. i text and i talk on the phone. without my phone i feel like im missing something important to me. i feel "naked" if that makes sence. i have two phones just incase one of them breaks down on me. if i forget me phone when i go somewhere i always freak out because i always feel around for it, thinking that i have it on me. my phone is so useful to me. i do math on it with the calculator to balance my check book. i make my schedules on the calendar. i have songs on my phone that i listen to when i get bored. i have pictures on my phone that i look at for memories. my phone is very important to me.

first week at ball state

my first week of school went by so fast. i got to know a lot of people and make a lot of new friends. the classes that i am taking are very fun. i actually like my professors and i dont think that i will have anything to complain about. hopefully that wont change later in the future. i had a great weekend. i went home for only one night which seemed like a waste of time but at least i got my laundry done. :) work is bothering me alittle, but i guess i have to get used to it. i feel like i am way to busy being social and working to be at home to sleep so i dont really get a lot of rest. my first week at bsu was a great experience and i cant wait to see what is ahead of me...
