english 101 goals

English 101 Course Goals
1. i think that i do a good job understanding the inquiry that is the beginning of all writing and reading assignments that we do. i have never failed to complete any of those. most of them make complete since to me and some dont.
2.yes, i have felt i reached this goal. i pay attention to everything that is said in class and i understand it
3. sometimes i feel like i understand, ok, put it this way i understand completely whats going on, but i dont understand why we have to do it.
4. we have been over arguments twice this semester. i think that everyone in the class has reached this goal of understandment.
5. i love this goal. i love that we go over other students homework and essays to learn about their mistakes. i love to go over my own essays and revise my work so i know what i can improve on.
6. we have done alot of stuff were we used the rhetorical situation and it makes me feel like it involves me and my ideas as other stuff i dont think it matters.
7. i love that we work with others. i get to know other people that i dont know and it helps me not be shy and nervous.
8. developing confidence is hard for me when i write and speak. i never liked doing it but i think that i am getting better.
9. i believe 100% that what i do is my responsibility. i take full responsibility in my own progress.

Course Content & Format
1. i feel like we have reached alot of information that helps us in our writing and reading.
2. we have gone through lots of examples that help us analyze visual and verbal text.
3. i love the way we do our drafts and revising in this class. it doesnt make much of a stressful life as what most classes make.
4. when we do our peer reviews- i love it, it helps me get a students point of view and because they are my age they understand what i am talking about. its more nerve wrecking to have peers review my work than a professor.
5. i believe that we need to come up with a way to help students come up with ideas on what to write about. not something crazy hard but sometimes people get stuck with other stuff on their mind and ideas just dont pop into their heads.
6. ok, i dont understand why we have to do this one, but we will do it and i will try my best on it.
7. i love that we have a portfolio. hopefully mine will turn out to be good but reflecting points is good.

University Core Curriculum Goals
1.i dont understand some, maybe most of the core curriculum goals but i have no choice but to do them. i like to say that we wont need them in our futures unless we are going to have a career about them. but we will have to teach our children everything we know someday.
2. i am happy with the way Ball State communicates with the students at college level.
3. sometimes i dont believe that the college does this but i havent had a problem with anything.
4. ok, i have no idea what this means but i dont have a problem with the way they handle my cultural heritage.
5. i like that we work with others on problems but not always do they get solved.
6. if the student gets involved them i am so happy that the college is trying to assess their talents and goals but i dont feel sorry for the ones who dont do anything to try to make this happen.

argument

today we went over another lecture about arguing. i thought that maybe we learned all about it the first time. but i dont care that much, its all very interesting to me. :) i have nothing much to talk about at all. i hate the weather! its driving me crazy! i had an exam in NREM and i think that it was a lot better than the last one. thats good

outline for letter to the editor

Intro: giving all the places there are to park.

Thesis: parking at Ball State is not very good at all.

Body I: student parking- freshman parking at football stadium, others parking is different

II: visitors parking on weekdays and weekends, times and places, meters and placements

III: people coming home and dropping stuff of at dorms....impossible where i live...

Conclusion: Parking at Ball State needs to be fixed. More parking spots and more availability. times should change on when they should be aloud to have visitors. Parking services needs to have longer hours.

my day...

my day went by so slow....i felt like i woke up like 20 hours ago and it still not even 430...i have an opportunity to work at 7:45 to 9:45 instead of 9:45 to 1 am. thats awesome but i lose an hour of work. i guess that its not that big of deal. i think that i have talked to my mother like 5 times today.... i hate the reception here because people will call me when im in buildings and it takes them to voice mail so they leave me one, and when i get to go and check it, it wont let me because im in rome...it drives me crazy! im in a mood where i just am relaxed and i just need to go to bed. lol....anyone else have these kind of days?

LTE. intensive reviews

today we did some intesive reviews on some peoples papers. we did Kaitlin's and Lacy's letter to the editors. they were really good. very interesting topics and i really hope that one day ball state will read and understand that some students have alot to complain about and so do i, but sometimes what gets me is that we choose this school, why are we complaining about it. i dont know, i get that there are so many other schools in the united states that we could have gone to, and all we do is bitch about ball state and how they did things. i just have a wish that one day ball state people would listen to the complainers and maybe change the way ball state is.

Day the LTE due!

i sometimes hate when essays are due on monday nights at midnight! i wish that i didnt have to work at 9:30 and work until 1am. yesterday was so stressful for me! on Tuesdays i have speech class and if anyone knows me- i HATE speeches. i freak out so bad and they stress me out more than anything! so after english class at 4, i had to rush and meet with the group members for my speech (it was an informative group project) and we didnt get done with that project til about 7:30 and then i had to rush home and do my essay paper for english! i just get stressed to easily! if only i didnt have to work until 1 and get up the next morning at 6.

Letters to the Editor: Brainstorming!

i have an idea that i want to write to the Ball State Daily News about the buses!
Purpose: needs to run longer at certain times, run to certain places
Audience: students, and others
Persona: me of course, but almost all students agree with me.
